How is This Legal?
What makes our program unique is that it isn’t extracurricular — it takes place DURING the public school day! Many people wonder how teaching the Bible to children in public school is legal. This is a fully legal elective part of the national released time rulings that ALL states recognize. Released Time allows children attending public school to receive religious education of their choice during the school day.
The idea of Released Time began in the early 1900’s and has been upheld over the years by the Supreme Court as protected by the Constitution. For more information on how this is legal, check out this informative podcast episode.
There Are Three Federal Requirements for Released Time Programs
The program takes place off of school property
Parental permission is given for a child to participate
Tax-payer funds can not be used
